Davie Crocket National Forest Overnighter

Nice bikepacking trip in Davy Crockett National Forest. Thanks to David Renninger for an awesome route! Had to make some slight modifications after scouting since some roads no longer exist, so if anyone wants to repeat the trip use this version of the route:

The route shows start/end at Ratcliff, but we actually started at Mission Tejas because that worked better for us from a food standpoint since we were able to get dinner at Lakeside Grocery at the end of the first day's ride on our way into Ratcliff and then breakfast and a "to go" lunch at Lakeside Grocery again on our way back to Mission Tejas.
One side note is that road crews had recently dumped sand (looked like beach sand) on various roads. It can sneak up on you, so heads up when you're riding. Not sure if that is a normal thing down there, but I've never seen it on my two prior trips to the forest.
